JEREMI EDWARDS
JEREMI W. EDWARDS is a Louisiana native. He graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Edwards then graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, with a Master of Music in Theory and Composition where he studied composition with Dr. Quincy Hilliard. Edwards is currently in his final semester within the PhD in Music Composition program at Louisiana State University in the studio of Dr. Mara Gibson.
Edwards’s dissertation will consist of collecting and synthesizing contemporary music composition pedagogy trends and practices to develop a resource guide for new and future composition pedagogy faculty, as well as the development of an aleatoric event score titled “Exploration of Time, Sound, and Space in the nature of the Fluxus Movement” in collaboration with the Louisiana State University Museum of Art at the Saw Center of the Performing Arts in downtown Baton Rouge, LA.
Edwards was recently titled Corps Director for the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps and has recently joined the Arts Advisory and Education Boards for the Cultural Noir theater company in San Diego, California.
Edwards is an Alumni of Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
