JEFF HERWIG
JEFF HERWIG (b. 1992) is an American composer, conductor, and music educator. His music for concert band has been described as “emotionally engaging and beneficial for the developing musician.”
Jeff is the founder of M&M Music Press, LLC, based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Many of Jeff’s works for concert band and chamber ensembles are distributed exclusively through M&M Music Press. His work can also be found in the T.U.X. People's Music publication catalog. Recently, Jeff’s piece, "The Bridge," was chosen as a winning selection in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association 2019 Composition Contest.
In 2020, Jeff founded the Three Rivers Wind Symphony, for which he is the conductor and artistic director. TRWS is a professional wind ensemble based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania dedicated to enhancing and expanding upon the wind band repertoire.
As an educator, Jeff has served as the Director of Bands in the Titusville Area and Mercer Area School Districts, respectively.
Jeff is a 2015 graduate of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, where he completed his undergraduate work in Music Education. He later earned his Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Messiah University in 2019, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Music Education degree from Liberty University. Jeff is a member of the Millennium Composers Initiative, ASCAP, and the American Composers Forum.
Jeff currently resides with his wife Megan and their two children in Beaver, Pennsylvania.
